WHITTAKER WISDOM
..
Rev. Dave Whittaker, Washington

Dear Brothers and
Sisters in Christ:
Looking at the theme
list for April, I could probably give comments on each individual theme, however,
that would take too long, and I don't think this old brain is up to it. Praise
the Lord for His direction.
I recently have gone
through a new season in my life, alone. However, when I sit down and really
think about it, I am never alone, for Christ is always with me, and He has many
ways of not letting me forget that. Not
only is it time for Spring Cleaning in and around the home, but also in the
heart and in the spiritual life. Because the heart affects how we portray
ourselves to the world around us, we have to be on top of things constantly.
It is easy to use
the, We Are Human excuse for why we neglect to do the things we need to do,
like refusing to turn the corner, because we may not like what we see around
the bend, we refuse to go forward,
because we like the little hole we have crawled into. That's where we can have
the best pity Parties. It's comfortable.
It is not in our
human nature to be forgiving, because the things that were said and done by
those friends and family members were just so beyond forgiving, and, of course
our unforgiving nature then makes it impossible to forgive ourselves for our
own blunders, but, folks, I am constantly reminded that un-forgiveness can, and
just might keep us out of the Kingdom, and, What would that do to our testimony?
And then, for those
who find themselves continually looking back, what did you leave behind you
that makes wasting your energy on the past?
It is not for us to
know the times or the seasons. They come in their own good time. What is good
for you and me, is to know how and where we stand in our walk with Heavenly
Father. Are we perfect?
No, but we strive for
His perfection. Each day you wake up, is
the First day of the Rest of your life.
Don't spend your energy on yesterday; you can do nothing to change
it. Don't spend your time on tomorrow,
you have no promise of tomorrow, but you have today, and what you do with
today, will count for all eternity.
God Bless you richly,
I love you, Pastor
Dave
